Main purpose of the role

The main purpose of the Creative Manager is to lead the creative department and take responsibility for the channel's creative output ensuring it is delivered on time and with maximum quality. The role includes all aspects of Brand Management which covers Branding, Graphics & Promotions as well as Marketing Kit

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish the scope of the Creative department through strategic business drivers
  • Managing all areas of the creative department including graphics, design & promotions
  • Manage and coach the graphics and design teams
  • Lead the evaluation and design of creative solutions
  • Improve and develop the department workflows and processes
  • Managing departmental budgets and costs associated with them

  • 7 -10 years of experience in the creative broadcast field
  • Extensive knowledge of areas of a television creative department and its processes
  • Substantial experience working at and with a senior management level

Purpose:

The Sound Designer is a creative music composer who can create music and sounds, edit and manipulate existing sounds, search and apply appropriate music and sfx, record and optimise VOs, mix, master, and deliver high quality audio files according to the department’s needs.

Working closely with the Creative Team members, the Sound designer is responsible for creating and adapting audio to video from the pre-production stage up until delivery.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create music and sounds according to briefs and project requirements.
  • Edit and manipulate existing or created sounds to best portray the video style intended by the producer of the video.
  • Choose and apply appropriate audio assets for videos produced by the department teams.
  • Record and optimize VOs.

The main purpose of the role

The promotions unit manager must have strong Arabic creative writing skills in addition to directing shoots, producing daily on-air promotions as well as monthly channel promotions.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Creative Manager to set priorities and the intake of work for the Promotions Department. 
  • Plan and manage the Promotions team tasks 
  • Plan and manage the Promotions team asset strategy 
  • Develop the overarching process of how work moves through the creative department to meet the promotions department's needs

Purpose: 

As a senior member of the Operations team, the Media Editing lead is responsible for the future strategy and evolution of the editing and post-production within the Channel. This will include existing and emerging platforms. They are ultimately responsible for the management of the news and programs editing teams in order to service the needs of editorial for programs and newsroom. 

They will have experience working with internal and external clients while also possessing a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of editing and post-production as they exist within a 24/7 news/documentary and programs broadcaster. They must possess the ability to troubleshoot, design and implement operational solutions/workflows in order to facilitate a high level of, and uninterrupted service.  

They will have a detailed understanding of broadcast technology processes, particularly as it applies to editing, post-production, colour, grading and media operations. They must also understand the production chain from the point of acquisition, through to post-production, transmission and onwards into the archive. An understanding of live studio production is also a must. 

They must themselves be experienced news and craft editors, but also possess previous supervisory/management experience. They will be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of all staff within the editing section.

AA connects the audience through social media and video-on-demand platforms, producing interesting stories about politics, economy, art, sports, pop culture, science and public life, awareness, social topics and entertainment. The Role:

We are looking for an experienced senior digital producer, who has very strong managerial and editorial skills. He/she will be responsible for leading a team of producers and video editors to produce outstanding, digital-friendly and high-quality content (social videos, raw videos, contextual videos and cards) that covers current affairs and news on its wide spectrum (politics, sport, entertainment, art, etc). His / her main responsibility will be planning and leading both input and output on a daily basis according to the rota.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the execution of the approved daily coverage, production and publishing strategy
  • Lead AA team on daily input and output operations in all aspects and hold editorial accountability for every produced piece of content
  • Supervise newsgathering process, manage the morning editorial meeting, spot production worthy stories, and define the editorial angle. and assign stories to the producers
  • Give editorial directions to the team, review and approve all aspect of the production (scripts, images, videos, titles, captions, metadata, thumbnails, etc)
  • Jump in the middle of covering, get hand dirty in producing stories when needed especially during breaking news
  • Oversee workflow, rota, guidelines, newsgathering system and the publishing schedule
  • Make sure the daily content is packaged to the high-end standards for each platform (thumbnails, tags, annotations, cards, description, titles, caption, metadata, rights)
  • Maintain and contribute to updated calendar of events and coverage, and plan the production according to the calendar
  • Spot key trends in the genre, including new subject territories and approaches for contemporary content

Skills

Required skills & experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in working in journalism, with 3 years of experience in the digital environment
  • Experience in managing teams and news shifts, solving problems, working under the stress of breaking news and fast headline flow
