Main purpose of the role

The responsibility of this role is to build and lead the channel’s digital content, overseeing; the Social Media Unit, and the Web Unit utilizing the knowledge of the usage of digital media channels, software & analytic tools to improve the company’s online presence and customer engagement.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of the digital vision and strategy ensuring alignment with the business objectives and strategic plans

     

  • Work closely with both software developers and ‘clients’ to ensure that projects are delivered successfully

     

  • Generating reports, using specialized tools to deliver better insights & analyzing data to improve future brands campaigns

     

  • Working closely with projects management to develop a strategy for integrated media campaigns

     

  • Quality check for the content used on digital media platforms

     

  • Working closely with content creators, to evaluate and make sure it’s matching digital media platforms according to platform guidelines

     

  • Ensuring brand consistency across all digital media channels

     

  • Remaining up to date with the latest digital media trends and design technology available

     

  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals

     

  • Plan digital advertising campaigns, including SEM, retargeting database, social media, videos native ads, and display advertising

     

  • To future proof the channel digitally and provide a strategic digital direction to the channel

     

  • Liaise closely with senior management team

     

  • To ensure effective use of budgets and resources to meet efficiency goals

     

  • Monitor resource progress on allocated projects, reconciling where appropriate to ensure all agreements are completed

Social media and digital campaigns: 

- Manage and monitor social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

- Handle all aspects of the media buying process; ad creation, optimization, scaling, reporting, etc for a large set of campaigns while driving business results to hit and exceed KPI’s

- Maintain a high-level up-to-date understanding of best practices of digital campaigns and bidding costs across different ad accounts (Facebook, Google ad, and Twitter)

- Maintain a high level of financial control on own activities and budget

Reporting and Analysis:

Requirements:
 

- Advanced digital marketing and social media skills with at least 5 years in the TV and media section

- Preferably MSc qualification in digital marketing or marketing

- Social media or digital marketing certified (Facebook media planning or buyer certificate and Google Ad), with a deep and current knowledge of social media skills including ad accounts, budgeting, and business manager

- A willingness to continually update and increase own knowledge

- Excellent presentation skills

- Experience in paid digital marketing channels, including but not limited to Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Twitter Ads, TikTok Ads, and Retargeting

- Experience effectively managing significant media budgets

- Analytical and quantitative skills, with an emphasis on identifying actionable insights

- Familiarity with social media analytics like Social Bakers, CrowdTangle , etc

• Producing and publishing news, news stories and breaking news, re-editing the content produced in the site's editorial room, auditing, reviewing and publishing it, ensuring the coordination of texts, images, links and attachments, and ensuring that they follow the publishing standards of the website.

• Managing content, categorizing and distributing it, prioritizing publication in terms of importance and speed, and determining the news that is suitable to appear as the most important news on the site's home page.

Essential Skills Required:

Purpose: 

As a senior member of the Operations team, the Media Editing lead is responsible for the future strategy and evolution of the editing and post-production within the Channel. This will include existing and emerging platforms. They are ultimately responsible for the management of the news and programs editing teams in order to service the needs of editorial for programs and newsroom. 

They will have experience working with internal and external clients while also possessing a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of editing and post-production as they exist within a 24/7 news/documentary and programs broadcaster. They must possess the ability to troubleshoot, design and implement operational solutions/workflows in order to facilitate a high level of, and uninterrupted service.  

They will have a detailed understanding of broadcast technology processes, particularly as it applies to editing, post-production, colour, grading and media operations. They must also understand the production chain from the point of acquisition, through to post-production, transmission and onwards into the archive. An understanding of live studio production is also a must. 

They must themselves be experienced news and craft editors, but also possess previous supervisory/management experience. They will be responsible for the recruitment, training and management of all staff within the editing section. 

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and develop team members; help resolve dysfunctional behaviour

  • A creative eye and artistic sensibility
