Purpose:

The Real-time Broadcast Graphics Designer will be responsible for the conception and production of high-quality Real-time graphics mainly for broadcast and occasionally on a diverse array of media, Platforms include On-air, led walls, touch screens among other digital media.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute and deliver rich and extensive real-time data-driven templates and graphics, with uncompromising attention to detail.
  • Work with 2D/3D design elements and cater to ad-hoc needs of on-air graphics.
  • Responsible for data visualisation as this will be central to each graphic.
  • Deliver graphics for several media and digital displays like HD, touch screens and custom video wall displays.
  • Work on compelling 3D VR and AR graphics, custom or template.
  • Work on immersive 3D VR scenarios for specials events like elections.
  • Create infographic templates for the air, and constantly improve looks and usability.
  • Work closely with the designers to integrate design elements in the real-time form.
  • Work closely with the developers to integrate custom code for special projects.
  • Design a data workflow that suits the templates in a news environment.
  • Maintain, organize, and archive the department’s template library.

 

Skills:

  • The role requires excellent attention to detail and established design skills.
  • Experience with digital platforms and interactivity is a big plus.
  • Proven experience in 3D broadcast standard software like VizRT, Ventuz, RossXpression, Wasp3D or the like…
  • Some experience in 3D graphics software like Cinema 4D or the like is a plus.
  • Proficient in mainstream graphics software, including but not limited to Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with basic coding skills is a bonus.
  • Awareness of the importance of data and data delivery in a live environment.
  • A creative thinker, with an excellent and proven ability to visually and verbally communicate ideas.
  • Ability to define, characterize, and communicate solution design at a creative level.
  • Ability to problem solve/pivot for projects with tight turnarounds and deadlines.
  • A strict organization is another must for this role.
  • Strongly committed to working as part of a creative team.
  • Juggle the work of multiple motion graphic projects simultaneously.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Design or Development or the equivalent.
  • Proven track record with television or motion graphics industry.

Purpose:

A multi-skilled operator is a person with the ability to work in different positions in the gallery, studio and in location, operate graphic, auto-cue, as floor manager, operate the SQ machine and able to assist cameramen on the floor and on location

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational supervision whilst in the Studio
  • Support the gallery & studio teams in the delivery of various productions

  • Listening to the Director & following their instructions

  • Ensuring the health & safety of all who are in the Studio

  • Assist cameramen on the floor and on location

  • Liaising with the production team(s) about guests

  • Ensuring floor plans & health & safety legislation is adhered too

  • Ensure that programme rundowns and scripts are updated and uploaded into the Auto-script system whilst working on live or pre-recorded programming within studios or outside broadcasts

  • Liaise with production and presenters to ensure that scrolling is at the agreed pace whilst on air

  • Operate Complex graphic machine

  • Ensure all inserts and graphics are correct and running properly

  • Listen to directors for any changes and re Load/download accordingly whilst on air

Purpose:

 

The CCU / Gaffer Operator is responsible for operating cameras and lighting equipment in the studio or on location to an advanced level, ensuring that lighting and camera settings comply with the guidelines, to ensure the correctness of the final output, through camera shot composition, framing and lighting for live and pre-recorded programmes as directed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Test the functionality of all necessary equipment before shooting live and pre-recorded news or programs (i.e. camera, lenses, monitors, camera robotic system, CCU for each camera, lighting unit – LEDs, Fresnel, cool light, lighting desk)
  • Perform camera line-ups-matching camera parameters for colour and exposure.
  • Comply with directed camera compositions and framings during live/pre-recorded news or programs according to the TD, Head of Cameras instructions and as per news or program requirements
  • Operate Multiple Robotic Camera Control System, Jimmy Jib or Hand Held camera system.
  • Monitor cameras video level via a waveform monitor for quality control in terms of luminance and chrominance levels -maintaining output to industry set standards and settings.
  • Control and balance lighting levels via the lighting desk/ lighting control units
  • Arrange and set lighting for live/pre-recorded news, weather or programs according to the Technical Director’s instructions, to ensure all colour schemes conform to broadcasting standards
  • Perform routine maintenance for all cameras and lighting equipment
  • Coordinate with “Head of Cameras, Supervisor, and Engineering department.
  • Prepare reports regarding equipment, troubleshooting issues, failures and any other relevant issues
  • Perform other duties relevant to the job as requested by superiors
